We’ve already told you a bit about our friends and collaborators, Malcolm and Richard Leask, from Hither & Yon. In case you missed it, here’s a little recap.

Born and bred in the country, these down-to-earth brothers combine a salt-of-the-earth, hard slog farming background with a progressive vision of sustainable grape growing. We love their general ethos—these guys are mad about their families, their heritage and the business of growing the world’s best grapes. Humble, lion-hearted and the hardest working blokes we know, they are big thinkers with the courage to look outside the square.

Not content to sit back on their laurels and bask in the accomplishments of their incredibly successful offering, Hither & Yon, the guys went on to create another brand, Old Jarvie, which also celebrates their homeland of McLaren Vale.

Old Jarvie serves as a complement, rather than a competitor of Hither & Yon. While Hither & Yon is purist in form, featuring traditional varieties with little to no intervention, Old Jarvie—a blended wine range—gives Mal and Richard the chance to flex their creative muscles.

As clever founders, they knew that in the right hands, a business can offer two brands, in the same market, and carve a clear niche for both. We’re not going to lie, it was a challenge to find that micro fine line, but we managed to skirt it. Old Jarvie has been another clear winner for these guys, and we’re thrilled to have delivered it from scratch.
