We adore how the love story of founders Charlie Seppelt and Skye Salter underpins the very heart of Paralian. The couple met as baby-faced, aspiring winemakers in 2008, bonding over late night toil and a passion for wine.
Charlie has a winemaking pedigree as long as your arm (his impressive industry debut was a d’Arenberg vintage) while Skye, who comes from a family that loves a good drop, followed her heart all the way to a winemaking degree at university. Skye is hands down one of the loveliest souls you could ever hope to meet, full of sweetness and light as well as amazing brains. She’s the ideal balance for Charlie, a charismatic perfectionist who oozes confidence and has mind-boggling talents.
The pair are determined to live the dream, doing what they love, while enjoying the fresh ocean air in the seaside town of Port Willunga. It just so happens that their beloved home is a stone’s throw from the renowned McLaren Vale wine region where Grenache and Shiraz grapes thrive, so it was only a matter of time before they birthed their first baby—Paralian (‘one who lives by the sea’).
Naturally, it’s spectacular. And working on it with this talented pair, who are determined to live their best life, on their terms, bringing their best game, was nothing short of inspirational. We were so grateful to join you guys on the magnificent journey.
