ThincLab got us super excited from the start.
A very cool concept driven by a team of contagiously impassioned academics—led by the effervescent Noel Lindsay—this University-led ‘hub’ supports the development of ideas (and God knows we love those). It’s a space where anyone can come and share entrepreneurial thoughts and concepts that (hopefully) lead to significant change, and receive support, training, advice and all kinds of awesome enabling action when they do so.
This crew is so fervent about what they do and work far, far beyond the hours they are paid to deliver. They aren’t watching the clock because there’s no divide for them between work and life. Their work ‘is’ their life! We can relate, we’re cut from exactly the same cloth.
Noel, who at 16 dropped out of school to start his first business (which initially succeeded before ultimately failing) is one of those motivating guys whose ability to learn from failure and go on and conquer really throws fuel on your fire. We love how he and the group have created the perfect haven to the creative thinkers, the rule-breakers and the challengers in life.
Given most universities attempt similar programs that traditionally operate within the language of academia, the challenge with ThincLab was encouraging the team to be brave enough to develop a new ‘speak’, one that directly addressed their target market. Of course, being the open-minded and progressive folk they are they signed right up; a colossal move that changes the entire culture of how these concepts are approached. We’ve loved being part of the ThincLab journey and can’t wait to see where it goes next.
